Edison International is committed to complying with environmental regulations wherever we operate, throughout the world.  Yet we also believe we serve a role in helping our customers improve the efficiency of their own electricity use, and in implementing demand-side management strategies.

Much of this work happens through Southern California Edison, Edison International's electric utility which serves a population of more than 13 million. SCE has several energy efficiency programs where you can learn to use your energy resourcefully, no matter where you may be in the world.

Zero Emission Products

As one of the world's most progressive electric utilities, Southern California Edison takes a leadership role in supporting a safe, reliable, efficient and cost-effective electric supply for use by on-road and non-road “grid-connecting” electro-drive technologies. The latter include forklifts, golf carts, industrial burden and personnel carriers, airport ground support equipment, truck stop electrification, port electrification, sweepers, scrubbers and more.

Much of our work focuses on helping businesses use their electro-drive equipment more efficiently and shift battery charging to off-peak (low-energy-use) periods. It's all part of our effort to help fleets maximize the benefits of electro-drive while managing electricity supply resources and controlling costs for all of our customers.

To live more energy efficiently, you might consider purchasing an electric vehicle or a battery-powered lawnmower. Edison International is committed to supporting the introduction of electro-drive technologies, ranging from electric light rail, to battery-powered airport ground equipment and industrial forklifts.  These zero-emission applications help improve local air and water quality, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.  As an industry leader, SCE currently operates a fleet of more than 300 battery-powered electric vehicles (EVs), the largest fleet of pure EVs in the United States.
